Raiz Capital

Raiz Capital is focused on urban revitalization in the historic downtown area of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Centro Historico was founded over four centuries ago, and has lost its former glory. Raiz plans to assemble a significant portfolio of properties in the Centro Historico in order to gradually redevelop existing properties and reactive the surrounding areas. Their goal is to create a hub of renewed entrepreneurship, while focusing on social inclusion, cultural development and economic empowerment of the working poor.

Raiz Capital is a social impact venture, and is currently in the process of earning B-Corp certification. Raiz is committed to creating one low-income housing unit for every market-rate unit in their properties. Along with co-working space, community and arts facilities, and small business retail, Raiz is reinvigorating Centro Historico into a vital and vibrant, safe community.

Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela constitute a vibrant historical district and the capital of Honduras. Home to a majority of the country’s historical landmarks, it’s a baffling mix of colonial and modern architecture left nearly untouched. Given the overflow of cultural houses and museums that dot the cobbled stones of this quaint downtown area, El Centro is fast becoming a place of astounding creative production.

Raiz Capital’s first project :
Casa Quinchon, is well underway.

Casa Quinchon marks the foray into a new creative world, a hub for artistic, academic,
technological and gastronomical talent. It will establish itself as the first collaborative epicenter of the country, a place where users maximize their capacities through purposeful networking, where professional lives transcend scheduling and space, where profitability is directly correlated to the success of its tenant’s products and services.

As Raiz Capital’s pilot project, Casa Quinchon will usher in Tegucigalpa’s Renaissance, establishing a culture deeply rooted in collaboration and innovation, where people meet, interact, communicate and succeed.
